Mytle Beach -A 60 miles Long Grand Strand of S. Carolina



Myrtle Beach is the coastal resort city in South Carolina. It is the hub of Grand Strand which has been a mecca for vacationers and retirees for its 60 miles sandy white beach stretching along the beautiful Atlantic Ocean. It was earlier inhabited by Waccamaw Indians along the long bay and occupied by European settlers in late 17th. It turned into a tourist attraction as early as 19th century and now home to an array of tourists' attraction. With its 120 golf courses, it is also named as Golf Capital of the world.

Grand Strand situated between Atlantic Intra-coastal waterway on the west and Atlantic Ocean on the east. Being string of beach resorts, Myrtle Beach becomes a destination for those looking for great escape. Besides income from Tobacco, billions of dollars are made from tourism each season, spring, summer or fall. Every year it attracts more than 15 million visitors to come for pleasure, for fun, for relaxation, excitement, and for its 60 mile span long beach.



Apache Ocean Front Pier with a length of 1206 feet is the longest wooden pier in east coast. It is also a popular camping site for travel trailers. It offers great conveniences to all trailers and vacationers as it has playground and many facilities including supplies of water, electricity, cable, wireless internet, sewer hook-ups and laundry. It has hosted families for over 35 years and gained good reputation throughout nation.



People especially seniors, moved here or stayed here for few months just to get the calm and peaceful living atmosphere for a while.



Anglers land all varieties of saltwater fish. Rod and reel rentals are available at about US$8.50 for 2 rods with complete supply of bait and tackle.

We had our stay in Holiday Inn right in front of the ocean, where full view of Myrtle Beach totally unfold before us when looking out from the room.





The wide and white sandy beach is the treasure of this carefree land of leisure.



Unlike most of the states in America, thong bikinis are strictly not permitted at Myrtle Beach.



Rent a home like this instead of hotel if you are going to stay for long.















Caps or hats or even dress could be easily blown off by the ocean strong wind.



The 9 miles stretch of beach became a city of North Myrtle Beach in 1968. Its wide beach extend to a point where the ocean meets the intra-coastal waterway. Cafes and beach wear stores dot the landscape.





Lines of palm trees at town near the beach creating a tropical atmosphere, especially in summer.



Thousands of visitors flock here in May for the annual Blue crab Festival, which celebrates the crustacean that has become synonymous with the area. Almost all streets will lead you to reach this heavenly beach as you can see from left below, its like a welcoming door from far end.






Grand Stand possess not only 60 miles of white sandy beach, it also preserves its green by keeping up a 16.8 sq. miles of pine forest and with oak trees and palm trees along the roads, streets and highway. .



An open display of air-military fighter planes and a memorandum dedicated to men and women combats wounded in the wars.





Eye-witness hundreds of group middle-aged bikers stroll down the streets, you will only know how wealthy are people in USA and in which way they enjoy life.



The luxurious Harley bikes, exclusively renovated, two wheels or three wheels existing at every corners of the city, has become a special scenery of Myrtle Beach..



Besides Harley bikes, riding on a wheel fun vehicle will also have as much fun in this beach resort city.



Hundreds and hundreds of Harley Bikes parking in front of an assembly club and bar, a place where they rest, share and have their meals.



Crabby Mike's provides full course of seafood buffet with free flow of snow crabs, lobster, scallop, shrimp, fish, cramp, oyster plus all kinds of meat and plenty choices of salad and fruits, at a cost of about US$25.00 each adult.



Customers were seated under an environment as if dining under an ocean world. Restaurants are packed with people, lunch and dinner.



The colorful sea creatures become main decoration of the restaurant.



The Carolina Opry opened in a small nightclub in 1986 was the first and only family entertainment at the beach. The present music legend host Calvin Gilmore took over and turned it into a home for his fledgling variety show blending comedy, music and showmanship into a solid gold entertainment at the heart of Grand Strand. The success of Calvin has made Opry into a legendary institution and Myrtle Beach, a country music capital.



The four national stars of NBC's America's Got Talent entertained audiences with their inscrutable tap dances.



Carolina Opry's showcasing music & dances from the "60s, '70s, '80s. with very good vibrations stimulated inside its 2200 seats show palace.
