Fall Foliage in North Conway -New Hampshire

Picturesque North Conway is a typical New England Village , directly nested in the heart of White Mountains. Its accessible with easy driving distance from Portland, Boston, and places of nearby states of America. It is a year round resort area and a special spot for unique stores and artisan workshops. With hundreds of brand factory outlets, it also becomes a shoppers paradise.

North Conway surrounded by wide ranges of mountains and valleys with low density of population is an ideal center for relaxing and fun getaway from all hustle and bustle of the busy world.

The most colorful display on earth we ever see. Colors vary from mountain tops to valleys and from day to day and there is no way to predict when fall foliage will be at its peak.

Everyday is a beautiful day in North Conway from mid September to mid-October.

Most of the hotels or resort center are situated within mountains and embraced by spectacular and wonderful scenery.

Ground grass chilled by night cold temperature was carpeted with a thin layer of snow glittering like silver under morning sunbeam.

Some of the scenic views from our resort center.

Maple trees in their brightest color in front of our apartments.

The brilliant foliage at the park of North Conway. Leaves turn yellow, orange, red , bronze or sometimes purple during autumn time when temperature starts to drop and daylight becomes shorter. There is no more green when chlorophyll breaks down and food making process in leave-cells ceased. The degree of color varies from tree to tree. Leaves directly exposed to sun may turn red and those under the shade may turn yellow. As for maple, its brighter red color come from chemical process as sugar is produced in the leaves in the warmth of fall days and trapped by night's chill. The more sugar it accumulates, the brighter red it turns. No one would ever refuse to admire the colorful display of nature at this season ............

The Victoria historical train station offers rail trips through Mt Washington Valleys with open and enclosed restored passengers cars for visitors to explore the scenic countryside of New Hampshire.

Both Notch Train and Valley train are powered by diesel electric locomotives.

The beautiful building of Victoria train station represents the architectural design of that era.

A beautiful small garden behind the restaurant that offered us one of the best seafood dinner.

Shops at street are in individual building in its own design and decoration.

The art-gallery center and the 5 cents & 10 cents stores are as attractive as the little pretty chapel.

Thick forested hills always are the back screen dropping behind the street, the residential houses, the lounge and the advertisement signboard in North Conway.

A serene living quarter and its little, yet attractive stone road sign peacefully staying right at the cross road.

In the olden days, bridges were built with covers for carriages animals to feel like at home after certain distance of journey. The covered bridges are one of visual signature symbols in the history of The United States but in most of the states, many had been abandoned. The one at Jackson village of New Hampshire appears so gorgeous and unique.

Cute little houses nested in the colors tinted world.

The straight tall old pine trees look so outstanding in this colorful environment.

The construction of residential buildings on this piece of unpolluted land, are simple and unique.

Passing by the scenic drive ways and saying good-bye to this little village of New Hampshire with its unique beauty fully preserved in our memory ever forever.
