Horse Capital of The World, Lexington, Kentucky

I was with my children at Lexington last autumn again. Lexington is a very small town in Kentucky state, north east of USA but its Kentucky derby makes it in world fame . For the past 8 years I have been traveling to this little town, visiting my kids, experiencing its spring, its summer, its winter and its fall. Each year I came, I was not only in different panorama but I could also feel and see the growth in my children. From 18 yrs old young kids, they turn into mature young persons in this little town. I would like to thank Lexington for creating such a good environment for my two children to successfully complete their high education and influencing them to form an appreciable human character . As a mother, I am proud of them !

Lexington is full of students and also the seniors. Colleges and universities attract students internationally and the peaceful environment with unpolluted air and water automatically draw the attention of retired personals nationally. God loves this place, it is gifted with nature- blue grass- for the breeding of world best horses. Of course, human effort also play an important role to strictly control and maintain its best surrounding environment. Today, it gains million dollars trade from royal families or tycoons from Europe and Middle East countries and also in the meantime provide a quality living place for the folks.

Horse racing is a game and entertainment in this place. Every body enjoy going near to watch the beautiful posture of the horse winner!

Keenland Horse Race Course is a place of fun for adults as well as children. It is definitely not a gambling place as we usually understand in Asia.

Watch the horse closely and purchase ticket from computer for a dollar or two to vote for the horse to get win or to get loose.

At Keenland Kentucky Horse Park Race Course, besides the horse, another attractive object is the colorful attire the Jockeys wear.

Lexington is not only famous for its Derby but also its universities and colleges. Pharmaceutical Science College of Kentucky University ranks within 5 in the whole country. Nearly half of the population are universities graduated.

Boyd Orchards are the 5th generation growers hailing from South Illinois, located at Pinckard Pike Versailles of Kentucky, 11 miles away from Lexington.

The Orchards by applying their own way of growing method, offers healthy and great tasty fruits and vegetables of the season.

Somebody is enjoying the fresh made apple cider from the farm......while the other is showing you a square squash melon

Pumpkin is the most popular product in the fall season, different color, different shape and different taste....The excess pumpkin is normally made into jam. The fresh made pumpkin jam is something like Malaysia "kaya" which is made from egg + coconut milk. Pumpkin jam is certainly much healthier.

The Orchards does not have to apply fertilizers of any kind to their land as the richness in the soil provide excellent growing condition for their apple trees and also other produce.

According to owners, in paper they are not organic, but all their produce are with extremely low residue levels exceeding the requirement of USDA. They are using extremely biodegradable products to prevent insects, fungi and bacteria on the trees and applied 6 weeks before harvest. They ensure their produce are safe for you and their own generations!

Normal apple bloom time normally is in mid April. When we came, the season was near the end but trees were still hanging with lots of fruits.

Excess red apples would be made into apple cider and distributed to supermarkets and stalls.

While young apple trees are still blossom with flowers, old trees were in the process of dying off. There is no difference as well in nature life of cycle.

The beautiful aromatic white apple flowers in the young plant and the rotten over-ripen immature apples at the old tree. A cycle of life!

Asparagus are growing well near the apple farm.

Another product from this season is the sweet corn. Have you ever tried sweet corn freshly plucked from the farm? And we found grapes while strolling up the slopes.

What are these, berries?

Berries and pumpkin farm.

Pluck your own apples and pick your own pumpkin are fun in the farm.

The unique and amazing playground in the farm, with big slides, pirate ship and hay castle. Spend an afternoon here with children to enjoy a relaxing moment. It would be the most precious time in our life time.

The huge slide at Picnic site! Enjoy a healthy lunch with food freshly prepared from the farm produce, under warm sun in the open air and have fun with children.

Sun set at 9.00 pm. in the months of August and September in Lexington. The setting sun is as round and red like their pomegranate.

Lexington is a small town but developed. Hundred of brands beers, various kinds of olives and dishes of healthy salad food are available in any supermarket.

In the serene town of Lexington, there are quite a number of automated postal center that make posting an easy and convenient job at any day any time.
